Featured! The Examiner, Broke-Ass Bride and Elizabeth Anne Designs

This past week has been mighty eventful press-wise for Stinkerpants Designs!

I was really excited to get an email from the awesome Moya Stone, who wrote about an event for an animal rescue that I created invitations for (more on that this week!).

Right after that, I discovered that I’d actually been featured on the Examiner.com website late last month for my “Will You be my Bridesmaid?” cards!  Sweet!!

Also last month, Dana from Brokeass Bride did a write-up on me, which was really sweet.

But to make it even sweeter, she also put the awesome post up on Elizabeth Anne Designs!  And then in the “posts you may like” area, I noticed that the lovely Kasia made a little mention of my Bridesmaid cards back in October.

I am obviously beyond flattered and excited!  Thanks you guys!!

Stinkerpants is Featured?! SWEET!

A few weeks ago, I learned that my office was featured on Ikea’s website!  How cool!

Then, about a week later, I was contacted by Angee of Sheic Space, who saw my office and loved it.  I am really excited to be featured in the latest issue of Sheic Space.  Super cool!  Thanks, Angee!

I am also really excited that my “Will You Be My Bridesmaid?” card was recently featured on Here Comes the Guide’s blog and Brides.com.  Super cool!

Thank You, Percy!

Today I learned that Stinkerpants Designs was spotlighted on the wonderful blog of Percy Sales Events. I am so excited!

When I first found Percy’s site (months and months ago), I was super impressed to see that he has a special site dedicated to same-sex couples.  I didn’t notice it before, but tonight it made me so happy to see that he donates 10% of his service fees to an equal rights organization!  As you all know, equal rights is an issue I feel very passionate about, and it’s always wonderful to find kindred spirits. He’s obviously also a great planner–he won Wedding Wire’s Bride’s Choice Award for 2009 and offers a lot of helpful advice on his blog.

Needless to say, I was SO flattered by the wonderful things he had to say!  Thank you so much, Percy!  I’m seriously blushing!

PS: I’d love to do your holiday cards!

To read what Percy wrote, check out the blog post here.  Check out his other posts, too, of course: his blog is great!

I’m gonna be on TV!

Last week was totally exciting for me.  I did my first ever television interview (look!  if you look at the top of my shirt, you can see I have a fancy microphone on!)!!

Back in January, I was contacted by KMTP, a local San Francisco television channel.  They’re doing interviews with wedding vendors for their “Wedding Spotlight” series, and the host contacted me for an interview!  I was really excited (I believe there might have been some jumping up and down involved, to be honest), but we had to wait a bit for the interview.  They wanted to come to our house, which was a disaster because of the remodel.

Last Monday, though, the stars and the remodel finally aligned, and KMTP headed over to my little home office for an interview.

Me with the host, Christina:

She was super nice and made answering her questions VERY easy:

Talking to me about what I do:

Not sure exactly what I’m doing in this picture, but Christina’s looking at my greeting cards:

She was quite fond of the birthday squirrel.  I can’t lie, I really like him too.  Something about rodents, I tell ya!

I thought I might be nervous, but it was totally (dare I say it?) fun!  My friend Sarah came over to document the occassion, and I was really excited when she told me that she thought it went really well.

I’m not sure when it will be on, but of course I’ll tell you as soon as I find out!  It’s a series, so it will be on more than once.  :)  They’re also going to give me a copy of the show (high def, even!), so hopefully I’ll be able to share it with those of you who are outside of the bay area.

YAY!

Bar Mitzvah-licious!

barmitzvah.gif

The other day I was contacted by an exceptionally nice woman named Laura.  She runs the website Mitzvahlicious, which helps people plan Bar and Bat Mitzvahs.

Despite being Jewish, it never occurred to me that there are TONS of sites out there for wedding planning, but hardly any for Bar or Bat Mitzvahs!  These parties are often just as big as weddings and just as fun (one of my cousins had his at the San Jose Tech Museum–it was amazing), so it really doesn’t make any sense.

Luckily, Laura’s site is awesome and has a ton of great ideas (so if you know anyone planning a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, send her info along!).  I’m super excited and flattered to be featured on her site right now.  Click here to check it out!

The drawing above is an example of an Event Theme for a Bar Mitzvah, but I can imagine lots of fun things I could do for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah.  I’d be really excited to draw someone’s Tikkun Olam project for a Save the Date, for example!

Thanks so much, Laura!
