The Fanciest Bar Mitzvah Invitation I’ve Ever Seen!

A few months ago, I was contacted by a very nice woman named Linda, who lives across the pond in London.  Linda’s son Marco is being Bar Mitvah’d this year, and she wanted an event theme based on the one I did for Nathan Fischer.  Linda was super fun to work with, and we included all sorts of details in the drawing, such as the title of Marco’s Torah portion, and his family in the audience behind him.

Check it out!

Their family’s synagogue is orthodox, so the men and women are separated.  Marco’s dad is the one in the front row all the way on the left in the men’s section, and his mom and sisters are in the front row in the women’s section.  I love this detail. :)

Linda wanted to include the drawing in the invitations for the party, but we decided it would be too complicated to have me print everything for her, then ship it overseas.  Because Linda had a printer she had worked with before, I sent the completed drawing directly to him–then he and Linda worked on the invitation.

About a week later, Linda emailed me with a genius invitation idea, which would incorporate the Bar Mitzvah reception as well as the ceremony–and it required another drawing!

This is what we came up with for the reception:

I absolutely love how this drawing turned out–it’s so fun!  And yes, that’s his dad in the bright blue tie.

When Linda told me about the invitation idea, I really, really wanted to see the finished product–so I asked Linda to send me a copy of it.  She was kind enough to oblige!  I received it yesterday, and I was SO IMPRESSED.  It is the fanciest, coolest Bar Mitzvah invitation I’ve ever seen.  Seriously cool.  Check it out:

You really have to see this in person to appreciate how cool it is.  The part with the drawings is super thick, and each drawing is protected by a thin layer of clear plastic.  The invitation itself is made of different colors of stardream paper (which is sparkly!) and each invitation is personally printed for each recipient.

I’m seriously impressed.  Thank you Linda, for sending this!  I wish I could come.  :)

YAY!! It’s here!!!

I am finally getting back into the swing of things after a nice trip with my mom to Los Angeles.  Memorial Day weekend was very fun–I hope you all had a great time too!

I am VERY excited about the topic of this blog post, as it’s been a long time coming.

I finally have the Stinkerpants Alphabet Poster in my hot little hands.  And I am so pleased with the quality!

The poster is printed on artist quality Epson poster paper, with a gorgeous Luster Gloss finish.  The finished poster measures 18″ by 24″ and would be the perfect addition to any room (if I do say so myself!).  It’s available in the Stinkerpants Shop or in my etsy shop.

Also available in my etsy shop are framed versions of the alphabet prints, for people who don’t want to deal with finding a frame (which is pretty much everybody, right?!  Let’s be honest here.).  The frames come in black, brown and white, and include the print.  Framed prints are $30 each.

So that’s what I’ve been up to recently!  I hope you guys like them!

Please tell everyone you know if you do–I’d really appreciate it!!

And a special thanks to Lisa + James Photography for taking the awesome product photos!

Whew!  I’ve finally completely finished all of the alphabet prints.  Over the past few days, I’ve been working on adding a couple of other options for a few letters, too.  For example, there are now:

Two options for B (Big Blimp and Bashful Bumblebee):

Three options for E (Enormous Eggplant, and a boy & girl version of Endearing Elephant):

Etsy Shop and New ABC prints

a.jpg

I have an announcement to make.

I am excited, nervous and relieved to announce this, because it has been on my To Do list for AGES.

I now have an Etsy shop

My clients have been asking me to open a shop for quite awhile now, and rather than wait for a ton of products, I’ve decided to do a bit of a soft-launch.  I’m starting things off with a few prints from my latest adventure: ABC prints.  I’ve been told time and time again to “do stuff for kids!”  Well, here I go.  I hope you like them!

So far I have A-O finished, and I’m working on the remaining letters.  I am selling these as prints right now, but have plans to do flashcards, too.  Click here to check out the rest of the letters!

The Etsy shop is going to have a definite learning curve for me, because I have no idea what to offer.  Thus, I am begging you for your help: I am looking for ANY and ALL suggestions.  And if you think something is ugly, tell me!  You can’t insult me.  :)

What would you like to see in my Etsy shop?  THANK YOU!  I love you guys.

Karen’s Baby Shower!

Last weekend, I went to an amazing baby shower!  I’ve never seen anything like it.  I should have known what to expect–after all,  a wedding planner (Lisa of BV Weddings) and a florist (Karen, the mama-to-be, is Huckleberry Karen) put the whole thing together!  Total cuteness, let me tell you.  I was really excited when Karen asked me to do her shower invitations:

and Lisa asked me to make a sign for the wish tree:

How cute is that wish tree?  Karen’s sister knitted those little hippos!  So cute.

In fact, the theme was everywhere…on signs, cookie favors and water bottles:img_6911.jpg

Check out Karen’s cute centerpieces:

Yes, that’s a diaper cake!  Super cute.

It was really fun to be a part of such a great event, and to see my friend Karen looking so happy (and pregnant!  She’s seriously the cutest pregnant gal I’ve ever seen!).  It was also really cool to see my designs executed so well.   It’s not often that I get to attend the event I’ve designed for.  :)  Thanks for inviting me, Karen!
