C & C’s Save the Dates

Remember last week, when I told you C & C’s Save the Dates were on the way?  Well, they received them, so now I can show you the whole thing!

Here’s the front:

And the inside:

C & C are getting married next year on the Fourth of July, and wanted to incorporate the holiday into their Save the Date.   They also have a VERY handsome pooch named Brewer, who (as you pet lovers will surely agree) had to be involved.

I love how these turned out!  C & C were a lot of fun to work with–they have such fun personalities.  And of course, I love drawing people’s pets.  :)

Thanks for letting me be a part of your wedding, guys!

K & S: Look what’s on the way!

::edit:: WOW, the mail works fast!  K & S received these before this post even went up!  hahaha.  Oh well, I’ll share them with everyone else.  :)

After looking at these photos, I’m realizing that my photo-taking skills are lacking, and I could probably use some Photoshop lessons!  But anyway, this isn’t about me, it’s about K & S!

K & S have a VERY romantic love story–but I’ll probably save that for the reveal of their wedding invitations.  They’ll be getting married next August in Denmark (S’s homeland), and needed a Save the Date with an RSVP-type function.  I set up their website with an RSVP form, and we included a link in the text.

Their Save the Date is a  two-sided postcard with a magnet.  One side of the postcard is in English (for the American guests) and the other side is in Danish (for the Danish guests).  The magnet can be affixed to either side with a removable glue dot.

One of the magnets on my work board!  I love them.  :)  Believe it or not, these are my first magnets!

I am totally thrilled with these, and so are K & S!  I can’t wait to get started on their invites.  :)

H & S: Australian Save the Dates!

I was super excited when S contacted me–he’s Australian!  He and his bride-to-be, H, live in Australia and will be married in California next year.  S, being the romantic guy he is, proposed to H in a seaplane in Sydney!  They wanted their Save the Dates to reflect their around-the-world romance.

Here’s the front of their card.  Really tiny in that plane is S down on one knee!

And here’s the back!  I just love San Francisco.  :)

These cards are so fun!  I love the Opera House…I hope to make it out to Australia sometime!

R & M: Disneyland Save the Dates

R is really into Disneyland–he’s a member of the exclusive club there, and that’s where he proposed to M!  M gave me a lot creative freedom with their Save the Date, which is always fun!  Their only stipulation was that they wanted it to reflect their San Francisco wedding with a cityscape.

And of course, I really wanted to include their proposal:

M wanted me to highlight the most famous aspects of the San Francisco skyline, so I made the Transamerica building and the Golden Gate bridge a bit bigger.  :)

M’s mom was so thrilled with the final results that she personally called me!  That meant so much to me.  :)

A & M’s Save the Dates

A and her fiancé, M, were really fun to draw!  A contacted me about drawing their Save the Dates–she wanted them to be set in a vineyard to reflect their wedding venue.  I think these are so cute!  I love the cloudy “Save the Date!”

S & H’s Save the Dates!

S & H are getting married in the Presidio, which has a very unique look.  S asked me to create a 2-sided Save the Date Card to reflect their San Francisco wedding.  For the front side, I drew the Presidio with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background (not going to lie, this vantage point doesn’t actually exist, haha):

For the backside, I drew S & H at Baker Beach.  S told me that one of her youngest guests recognized her from her hairstyle!

Since I created these, S and I have become great friends–she and H are so fun, and I’m so glad that these Save the Dates reflect that!

S & A: Proposal in Venice

S & A had an amazing proposal: this is the stuff fairytales are made of, seriously!  A proposed to S in Venice on a gondola!  When it came time to do their Save the Dates, S wanted them to reflect this romantic moment in their lives.  She also requested that I use their color palette of chocolate browns and reds.  Here’s what I came up with:

Save the Dates!

I have finally finished the Save the Date design! WHEW! These have been driving me crazy for far too long. Originally I wanted to do an actual photo in front of the Parkway. But Mr. Stinkerpants has been stressed with work and I’ve had a really hard time getting him down to Oakland and finding someone to take our pictures. We finally made it happen on Sunday, and it looked…bad. So I decided to scrap the whole photo idea and do a drawing. I think it looks really cool, and it fits better with our theme anyway.
