Andrea’s Green & Blue Children’s Room

I have to show you guys this bedroom, which totally blew me away!

Back in November, Andrea bought a Wish Tree from me, explaining that it would match the room she was creating for her kids perfectly.  She recently sent me photos of the completed room (for her daughter, 5 years old and son, 3 weeks old), and my jaw hit the floor.  To say that the print matched perfectly somehow manages to be an understatement - and I am really excited to have my artwork in such a gorgeous room.  Check it out!

Isn't it wonderful? I love how modern it is!  I am sure her children love it.  Congratulations on your son, Andrea, and thank you so much for sending the photos!

I love seeing spaces where my artwork is displayed - if you have any photos, please send them!

Stinkerpants Baby Model Search: the Winners

Deciding on the winners of this contest was a lot harder than I expected.  Every baby was adorable.  And while I never intended to pick just one winner, I never thought I'd have a hard time choosing around five or so.  But we seriously could NOT narrow it down. And because we couldn't send out 45 shirts, we decided on the (still big) number of 10 winners.

We spent three hours trying to choose the top babies, trying to evaluate based on a winning combo:

  1. the baby was cute (uh, everybody made that cut)
  2. the baby was big enough to sit up in a photo
  3. the baby would fit into the biggest shirt size we had
  4. the photos were nice (ie, we thought you might be able to take good photos of your adorable baby in our shirt)

Even with those requirements, we had a really, really hard time.  We even called in reinforcements (my mom) in the eleventh hour, because we COULD NOT ELIMINATE ANYONE, but she wasn't home (the nerve!).  Way more babies made the cut than we could send shirts to, so eventually we had to randomly pick the winners from our pool of finalists.  It was rough. The cuteness almost killed us.

So before I announce the winners, I have to tell you something else: we decided that we have to do this again. First off, there were a lot of really cute babies that either were too little to sit up, or we weren't sure if they could.  In just a few months, those babies will be champion sitters. Second, we only have up to size 18-24 months, and it's a small shirt. There were some really cute babies that wore size 24 months and might be too big for that shirt - so we've decided to add 2T & 3T sizes.  So if you entered and didn't win, PLEASE ENTER NEXT TIME!

Also, all of our entrants are getting Stinkerpants stickers, because they rock.

And with that, our first round of Stinkerpants Model Babies:

Aren't they adorable?  Yes, yes they are.  Thank you to everyone who entered!  I'll be in touch soon.  :)

Stinkerpants! Baby Model Search

Thank you so much to everyone who entered! The first search is now over, but make sure to "like" Stinkerpants on Facebook so you'll know when the next one comes up! -Sara

Stinkerpants is looking for a few good babies (and someone who's good with a camera)!

Do you know your way around a point-and-shoot, or consider yourself a whiz with a DSLR?  Do you have (or know) a baby between the ages of "I sit up" and "I wear a snug size 24 months"? If so, Stinkerpants is looking for you!

I am very excited to announce that I am very close to accomplishing a goal I've been thinking about for a long time: I'm about to launch a line of Stinkerpants baby onesies & t-shirts!  Check out a little preview of the collection above, on my little stinkerpants. :)

Rather than ask a bunch of stranger babies to model for me, I thought - why not ask my friends and blog readers...and offer a little treat in exchange? So here's how it works: you submit the cutest picture you've taken recently of your little munchkin.  On Valentines Day (that's one week from today!), we'll pick our favorites - and we'll send out a free shirt or onesie to those awesome babies. In exchange, we only ask that you take some adorable photos of your totally cute baby and send them in within two weeks of receiving your shirt or onesie.

Yes, that's right! Your baby! A model! And one of the very first to sport an adorable FREE Stinkerpants shirt!

So what are you waiting for!? Get to snapping your photos!  Then email them to me, at sara@stinkerpants.com.  Please include your baby's age, name, and what size s/he wears. :)

PS: do you "like" Stinkerpants on Facebook? If not, you totally should!  After all, Stinkerpants fans knew about these onesies a week ago!

Thank you so much to everyone who entered! The first search is now over, but make sure to "like" Stinkerpants on Facebook so you'll know when the next one comes up! -Sara

Rachael & Brian: Illustrated Save the Dates

Every once in awhile, a client sends me a photo of their pet that makes me laugh out loud.  Diva the Pit Bull was one such pet.  This dog has LOADS of personality, and she is so totally spoiled by her parents that I immediately loved her too.

This drawing was fun because a) I got to draw Diva, b) this pose?! OMG it's totally fun - not your typical wine country Save the Date, is it?  Love.

What they asked for:

New Art Prints!

Happy New Year, everyone!  2010 was a fantastic year for my family and I, and I'm hoping 2011 is just as good for us and all of you!

I'm starting to get back into the swing of things over here!  And with that, I've posted a few new art prints in my shop.

The first is the "Laws of the Land," which was inspired by rules that Y and I created for our cats.  Yes, you read that right: our cats.  Elvis wouldn't stop screwing around, so we created Rule #1: "Don't Screw Around." Then, for further emphasis, we made that Rule #2 as well. ;)  Eventually we decided that our Rules were good for our entire family.  And thus, this art print:

And because it's not okay to have a bunch of rules without also making it clear that everybody's got rights too, the Household Bill of Rights:

They're both on display in our dining room and for sale in the shop: the Laws of the Land art print and the Bill of Rights art print.

Laws of the Land and Bill of Rights art prints

I also added a new version of the Wish Tree print (which is hanging in Charlie's nursery).  Here's the original on display, with little blue birds (you can find the original Wish Tree print here in the shop):

and a detail of the new version, which features super cute owls!  I heart them the new Owls Wish Tree print is here in the shop).

I love these prints because they are truly personal.  On both the Bill of Rights & Laws of the Land, you fill in your own laws & rights (or have me do it, if you're afraid of your own handwriting!), and the wish tree can either be left blank, or filled in with your wishes for your kids.  :)
