Comments fixed, and…holiday cards!

Happy Thursday everyone! Just a quick note to say two three things:

1) The comments are now fixed. Quite a few of you let me know that you couldn't post comments because they were "identified as spam." How annoying! I've now switched to Disqus comments, which should solve the problem. 

2) Today is the last day to get 10% off your holiday cards, and I only have two spots left if you'd like them delivered in early December! New Year cards are another story, so let me know if you're interested in cards delivered closer to or after Christmas. Interested in holiday or New Year cards? Contact me by clicking here.

3)  Now is a great time to order if you'd like to give the gift of a family or pet portrait for the holidays! These make very special, thoughtful gifts for your loved ones - and just think - your shopping could be over! Contact me for more information.

Believe it or not…it’s HOLIDAY CARD TIME!

Like most everyone, it kind of sickens me to walk into Ikea and see Christmas decorations. I'm not ready, I say! I'm not ready! But ready or not, the holidays are coming, and quickly.  Last year I was inundated with holiday card orders at the last minute - I know, I know, you don't want to think about the holidays until at least Thanksgiving - but last minute orders stress me out, so too bad for you! ;)

In order to avoid the mad rush that was 2010, I'm offering 10% off the design fee on all custom cards through November 10. And as always, past clients don't have to pay to have themselves re-drawn, so potentially you may only need to pay for printing and envelopes!

The following two "cards" are belly bands, which you can wrap around a 4" x 6" photo, or your holiday newsletter!

And please tell your friends, because you've only got until November 10 - friends don't let friends pay full price when they don't have to, am I right or am I right?

Website Update

Good morning everyone!  I hope you are all having a fantastic day.

The past few days I have been obsessively working on my website.  Remember the other day when I was talking about quitting Etsy?  Well, an awesome commenter named Mr. Zombie suggested BigCartel instead.

I’ve had a shop here on my website for nearly a year, so I wasn’t really looking for a new system.  But then I started thinking about it–my setup was annoying to update and somewhat user unfriendly.  BigCartel leaves a bit to be desired (for example, I wish they had nesting categories, so I could organize my greeting cards by type.  I also wish I could send a nice confirmation email from me to my customers, rather than just from Paypal), but overall it’s really awesome.  I highly recommend checking it out if you’re looking for a shop.

So I replaced my old shop with a new, BigCartel-powered shop (I also added a few new cards to the shop, so check them out!), which is perfectly integrated with the new look for my website.  The website isn’t a complete overhaul, but I’ve changed quite a few things about it.  Hopefully the website as a whole now looks a bit more polished and is more user-friendly.

Calling All Bay Area Brides!

I went to her first (or maybe it was her second?) one, and it was AWESOME.  I learned a LOT and had a really good time.
