Bright Ideas
June 9, 2007 in Wedding Inspiration
God, I love bright colors. Just love them. Rather than choosing just a couple of colors, I can choose a bunch! We can decorate the tables with different colored linens on each table, corresponding with the colors on the bridesmaids’ sashes (or their different colored dresses).
Nicole Ha, florist, did this with these bronze stands. These are nice tall centerpieces because people can still see one another under them:

Guestbook Ideas
June 8, 2007 in Wedding Inspiration
I keep flip-flopping on Guestbook ideas.
I like the idea of having a polaroid guestbook. We could have one of my younger cousins in charge of a polaroid camera, then have the guests sign next to their pictures.
From the Knot Real Wedding of Tiffany & Mark in Findlay, OH:
However, I really like the whole matted frame idea. What the heck are we going to do with a regular guestbook? It’s just another thing to cart around with us for the rest of our lives, whereas we can hang one of these mats on the wall and enjoy it for all of eternity. Of course this is another thing that everyone and their brother does, but that’s because it’s a great idea.

More “bridesmaid-y” dresses!

I like these dresses. Plus, that pregnant bridesmaid looks really cute!!

I’d like to do a shade of funky blue for my bridesmaids, who range in skin tone by a lot. I think blue would look good on all of them:

From the Real Wedding of Alexis & Eric in Coronado, CA. I love these Betsey Johnson dresses and would totally wear one! Unfortunately they are over $500 each. I wonder what these girls do to be able to afford that!
I also like the contrasting sashes on these blue dresses:
Green is also a good color:
Love the hair! From the Knot Real Wedding of Carrie & Paul in Buda, TX:

Placecards

I love this freaking wedding. Before I had no outlet for my creative ideas. I’d make stuff, and then I’d think “what the heck am I going to do with this?!” Now I can look at pictures of placecards and think “YAY!”
These placecards are a great idea–each color is for a different meal choice:
I think this is a great idea, as well…inside each pocket is the menu. From the Knot Real Wedding of Jenny & Ira in Richmond, VA:
In other news…what the heck do people need menus for?
CommentTable Indicators
June 7, 2007 in Wedding Inspiration
Each table needs a name or a number. These are some creative ideas people have come up with for displaying the table numbers. On the tables, we’re going to do something like this, but more like a timeline where each table represents a special time in our lives together:
